Aces end slump

Alaska halted a 6-game losing dating back the previous conference as it walloped the struggling Air21 team, 105-95.

The Aces were swept by Derby Ace in the Philippine Cup finals, 4-0, and started the tournament with 2 more losses before ending their woes Wednesday night.

Diamon Simpson had 29 points, 14 rebounds and 3 blocks while getting enough support from the locals for Alaska's first win after three starts.

Sonny Thoss had 16 while Tony dela Cruz and Willie Miller each had 15 markers for the Aces, who spoiled the league debut of Jason Forte for the Express.

Forte, who replace Keena Young, had 20 points and 14 rebounds but was 6-of-16 from the field in his first game for Air21, which absorbed its 3rd defeat for a 1-4 win-loss mark. - www.abs-cbnnews.com
