Will Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather Jr retire first?

Over the last few weeks, both Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr have each talked about retirement. Yet, both of their "retirement talks" are mired in speculations and uncertainty.

In Manny's case, the uncertainty stems from who he will fight and how many more times. In Floyd Jr's case, the uncertainty stems from whether or not we believe him. So who will retire first? Let's examine further:

Floyd Mayweather Jr

Floyd Jr announced that he was going to take 1-2 years off and the entire boxing universe immediately suffered from one massive 'brain freeze'. Do we believe him or is this typical Floyd nonsense? Well, there's a split in the fan's opinions on whether Floyd Jr will retire or not. To make things even more perplexing are the comments from Uncles Roger and Jeff Mayweather.

Both uncles believe Floyd Mayweather Jr won't walk away. Roger clearly states that Floyd won't walk away from the 'money'. Many fans don't know who to believe. In my recent article I examined both sides and who to believe in the end.

Who do you believe Roger or Floyd Jr?

Ultimately, Mayweather Nation doesn't want to believe that their hero would just walk away from a Pacquiao fight. Also, they don't want to think their fighter is really 'scared'. However, this entire situation has brought nothing but negative criticism for Floyd. Floyd's critics say he's either a 'coward' or he manipulated a kid with cancer.

Manny Pacquiao

First, Manny Pacquiao announced that he had 3 fights left in him. Then after Manny Pacquiao won his congressional seat, we hear that he has only one fight left and it will be on November 13th. Manny comes out and says his mom wants him to retire but he talked her into one more fight. Manny also says that he's been thinking about retiring since early last year. He wants to be able to walk away from the sport in one piece..... click here for complete article
